Your day begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Arusha, followed by a short drive to the stunning Arusha National Park only about 30km away. This unique park is a haven of biodiversity, featuring a remarkable variety of flora and fauna. Its cinematic landscapes were famously showcased in the classic film Hatari, starring Hardy Kruger and John Wayne.
During your visit, you’ll explore the scenic Ngurdoto Crater, a natural amphitheater teeming with wildlife. You might encounter buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks, warthogs, zebras, baboons, and an array of bird species throughout the day.
The highlight of the trip is a guided walking safari which is led by a trained armed ranger. During the walking safari, you’ll have the chance to encounter several animals at a safe but thrillingly close distance. Commonly seen species include giraffes browsing on treetops, zebras grazing on the plains, and warthogs darting through the grass. You might also come across buffaloes, bushbucks, and a variety of primates, such as black-and-white colobus monkeys and baboons. While predators like leopards exist in the park, they are rarely encountered during walking safaris, making the experience both safe and exciting.
