Day 1: Arrival in Dar es Salaam

Welcome to Tanzania! We will pick you from the airport and transfer you to your accommodation. You will receive your safari briefing and have an early dinner in preparation for the early start the next day.

Day 2 and 3: Mikumi National Park

Early morning drive to Mikumi National Park, about six hours from Dar es Salaam. Known as a “mini Serengeti,”, it boasts lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and hippos. Its open plains and scenic backdrop make it ideal for safaris.

Day 4: Udzungwa Mountains National Park

Udzungwa Mountains National Park is a small, mountainous park famous for its unique endemic species. In its tropical rainforest, you’ll find bush elephants, monkeys, small mammals, and over 400 bird species. Notable endemics include the red Iringa Colobus, Sanje Crested Mangabey, and the grey-faced sengi (elephant shrew), along with several remarkable bird species found nowhere else. The stunning Sanje Waterfalls, cascading 170 meters in three tiers, are a highlight. Enjoy guided hikes, refreshing swims in natural pools, and the chance to experience the rich biodiversity of this untouched wilderness.

Day 5 and 6: Ruaha National Park

Ruaha National Park is Tanzania’s third-largest park. It stretches along the Great Ruaha River and is famous for its large elephant herds. Expect vast landscapes, populations of lions, and wild dogs, and exceptional birdlife – over 570 species! With its remote location and fewer tourists, Ruaha offers an intimate safari experience, perfect for exploring untouched wilderness and witnessing Africa’s raw beauty.

Day 7: At leisure.

Enjoy your last moments in Tanzania.

Day 8: Return to Dar es Salaam

After breakfast or depending on your flight schedule, you can enjoy some extra time at the lodge before our driver transfers you to Julius Nyerere Airport for your flight home or onwards to Zanzibar/Arusha.
