In detail:

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Welcome to Tanzania! We will pick you from the airport and transfer you to your accommodation. In the afternoon, if you would like to stretch your legs and recover from the flight, we will arrange a short tour of Arusha town, including a visit to the local food and Maasai Market for some artisanal crafts.

You will receive your safari briefing and have an early dinner in preparation for the early start the next day.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

Early morning drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Nestled at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment, this compact park is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, abundant wildlife, and diverse habitats. Highlights include tree-climbing lions, flamingo-filled shores (June – October), and populations of elephants, hippos, and baboons. Ideal for birdwatchers and nature lovers.

Day 3 and 4: Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti is a world-famous wilderness teeming with wildlife, known for its vast plains, predators, and the iconic Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras. Visit from June to October for prime game viewing during the dry season or witness the dramatic river crossings of the Migration from July to September.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

The landscape here, consisting of grasslands and acacia forests, offers a nice contrast to the vast plains of the Serengeti and the steep crater walls. The Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is particularly impressive due to its rich wildlife. With a bit of luck, you might see the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard—within just a few hours.

Day 6: At leisure.

We will head to a Maasai village for a cultural experience. Enjoy your last moments in Tanzania.

Day 7: Return to Kilimanjaro Airport

After breakfast or depending on your flight schedule, you can enjoy some extra time at the lodge before our driver transfers you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home or onwards to Zanzibar.

Day 8: Maasai cultural tour and drive back to Arusha

Day 9: Return to Kilimanjaro International Airport or fly to Zanzibar.
