In detail:

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Welcome to Tanzania! We will pick you from the airport and transfer you to your accommodation. In the afternoon, if you would like to stretch your legs and recover from the flight, we will arrange a short tour of Arusha town, including a visit to the local food and Maasai Market for some artisanal crafts. You will receive your safari briefing and have an early dinner in preparation for the early start the next day.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

We kick off the tour with an early morning drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, which can live for centuries. Tarangire is roughly the size of Luxembourg. During the dry season, these trees provide water to elephants, who use a unique technique to extract it. Besides the many elephants, you can also spot Maasai giraffes, gazelles and antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons, and various bird species.

Day 3: Ndutu

Early morning drive to the Ndutu area of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From December to March, wildebeest give birth in the plains, attracting predators looking for easy prey. Lake Ndutu and Masek are attract many animals (incl. flamingos). Enjoy a full day game drive here with packed lunch or which a short break back at the hotel, and an afternoon game drive.

Day 4 and 5: Serengeti National Park

On day 4, we will cross over into the Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is renowned for the Great Migration and its impressive predator population, including over lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. The park is also home to many other stunning animals, which your guide will eagerly help you spot.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you will depart for Ngorongoro and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera and 8th wonder of the world. The landscape here, consisting of grasslands and acacia forests, offers a nice contrast to the vast plains of the Serengeti. The Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is particularly impressive due to its rich wildlife. With a bit of luck, you might see the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard—within just a few hours. After a late picnic lunch, you’ll return to Arusha.

Day 7: Return to Kilimanjaro Airport

After breakfast or depending on your flight schedule, you can enjoy some extra time at the lodge before our driver transfers you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home or onwards to Zanzibar.
