In detail:

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Welcome to Tanzania! We will pick you from the airport and transfer you to your accommodation. In the afternoon, if you would like to stretch your legs and recover from the flight, we will arrange a short tour of Arusha town, including a visit to the local food and Maasai Market for some artisanal crafts.

You will receive your safari briefing and have an early dinner in preparation for the early start the next day.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

Early morning drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, which can live for centuries. Tarangire is roughly the size of Luxembourg. During the dry season, these trees provide water to elephants, who use a unique technique to extract it. Besides the many elephants, you can also spot Maasai giraffes, gazelles and antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons, and various bird species.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park (Central)

Serengeti National Park is renowned for the Great Migration and its impressive predator population, including over lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. The park is also home to many other stunning animals, which your guide will eagerly help you spot.

Day 4: Northern Serengeti & The Great Migration

This area offers a chance to witness the Mara River crossing, where massive herds of wildebeest brave the river’s crocodile-infested waters in search of fresh grazing. During the migration season (June to September), you will have a once in a lifetime experience witnessing the Mara River crossing.

Day 5: Northern Serengeti & The Great Migration

Spend another day in the northern Serengeti, observing the Great Migration or other wildlife like lions and cheetahs. Optional: Hot air balloon ride for an aerial view of the migration.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park (Central & Western)

Travel back to the central Serengeti for another round of game drives. Explore the western Serengeti or continue through Seronera for more wildlife viewing.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater & Conservation Area

The landscape here, consisting of grasslands and acacia forests, offers a nice contrast to the vast plains of the Serengeti and the steep crater walls. The Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is particularly impressive due to its rich wildlife. With a bit of luck, you might see the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard—within just a few hours.

Day 8: At leisure

We will head to a Maasai village for a cultural experience. Enjoy your last moments in Tanzania.

Day 9: Return to Kilimanjaro Airport

After breakfast or depending on your flight schedule, you can enjoy some extra time at the lodge before our driver transfers you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home or onwards to Zanzibar.
